Ladies,
If you are planning on using the orchestra, please remember that you must contact me directly.
I will need for you to send me either a CD, or email an mp3. (no cassettes, please!)
Although I'd love to hear you perform your talent before we get to Jackson, it is not absolutely necessary. (** except for pianists)
I will, however, need a recorded version of what I am to orchestrate, in the correct key, with any cuts, and within the 2 minute limit.
Sheet music or lead sheets are not necessary, but if you have one made up by someone you are working with, please send it along.
If you want your song to sound like a particular artist's recording, I'll need a copy of that also.
**Pianists performing classical pieces must send me a copy of their music with all cuts marked. (I really do need to hear you play-
if there is no studio at your school,or where you study, or you don't know anyone with a digital recorder, I will accept a cassette)
Remember- no matter what you are asked to send to the pageant office in Jackson, you will need to send the above to me.
I am asked frequently if we can make a practice tape ahead of time- sorry, but no. (The orchestra doesn't arrive at the hall until Tuesday
of pageant week, and we won't rehearse your music until we meet you- but don't worry, no matter what they look like, the guys are pros and
actually read music better than they do English!)
The fee is due by April 15th- if there is a problem, contact me.
Please make checks payable to:
